College Search Spreadsheet Template: Organize and Compare Your College Research

Download this free college search spreadsheet template to track deadlines, compare requirements, and organize your admission research in one easy-to-use file.

Researching colleges? Keep track of them all with this handy spreadsheet. College search spreadsheets are magical. They let you keep track of all your college info and compare it easily. With tools like Google Drive and Dropbox, you can access your spreadsheets all the time on your phone and laptop. You can even color-code the fields if you want to get really wild.

We tell students to make a spreadsheet for their college search all the time (it came up three times in our Ultimate Guide to the College Search alone!). But after we looked online and saw there weren’t many sample college search spreadsheets out there, we decided we needed to take matters into our own hands.

So here it is, a College Search Spreadsheet template for the world to use. You can use it as is or make it your own with all of the college search criteria that are important to you.

Please note: This is our example template, so we can't grant you access to edit this specific document. But you can download the Google Sheets file to your own computer to make your own personal copy, copy and paste the fields into a new document, or just look at it for inspiration. The college application process has been a stressful one, but CollegeXpress has eased some of that stress with its readily available college resources. At the beginning of the process, I frequently used the college search feature, and now that I’m almost done applying, I’ve started using the scholarship search. Both of these resources have made it easier to find relevant information.

My favorite part of CollegeXpress is that it features student writers so I get an inside perspective from students slightly older and farther along than me. I realize that other college websites also utilize student writers; however, I relate the most to the college writers that I read articles from on CollegeXpress.

CollegeXpress helped me find the school I am currently attending by consistently sending me emails of other schools. This allowed me to do research on other schools as well as the one I am in now!

I frequently visit CollegeXpress to answer questions from students and parents. There are countless hot topics in admissions that need to be addressed. I enjoy reading what my colleagues post and gain additional insight from different perspectives.

As I transition to furthering my education, I can say with certainty that it simply wouldn’t be possible without the help of generous organizations such as CollegeXpress. Those who initially founded CX had no idea their platform would give a plethora of information to a first-generation homeless kid native to the ghettos of over half a dozen states. Everyone at CX and Carnegie Dartlet gave me a chance at a future when the statistics said I had none. And for that, I thank them.
